Harvesting District Forester (Churchill):
Reporting to the Harvesting and Roading Manager, this role is responsible for the oversight of plantation harvesting operations. The position will supervise harvesting crews and ensure they are meeting safety, environmental, community, production and delivery targets.
Key aspects of this role are to;
- Provide input into detailed harvesting, roading and haulage operational plans consistent with best practices, regulatory requirements and customer requirements
- Field management of harvesting operations to deliver operational plans, meet production targets, customer specifications, value recovery and asset protection imperatives
- Manage roading responsibilities and other plantation management tasks from time-to-time
What you will need to succeed:
- Contemporary and relevant experience in harvesting and the forestry industry
- Ability to communicate clearly and confidently
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- Skills in establishing and maintaining good commercial and community relationships
- Demonstrated skills and experience in managing and negotiating with contractors
- Proven ability in working in teams, and managing quality work outcomes within strict time constraints
- Ability to think innovatively and implement works programs within budgets
- Ability to lead in fire prevention and suppression activities
- Valid Current Australian Drivers Licence.
